April's Speaker is Ms. Saroj Pramlani
She will discuss the holistic techniques such as Pranayama (yogic breathing), meditation, and laughter to help attain and maintain health
During our social segment, we will celebrate the AARP, Cary Chapter 40th anniversary.
Social time will be a programmed interactive fellowship segment.
There will be music evoking the spirit of the 90s, and we will dress in attire that was popular back then. Remember those days of track suits, varsity jackets and chunky statement jewelry?
If you can’t find any of those or other apparel from the 80s in your closet or local thrift shop, anything bold and colorful will do. Join us for a trip down memory lane!

Ms. Primlani retired from NC State University as the University’s Accessibility Coordinator, providing technical expertise and support to ensure the University’s IT resources were accessible and usable by persons with disabilities.
She states "That since my retirement, over the last 15 years, I have turned my lifelong interest in yogic practices to helping people develop internal resources needed to deal with the physical, emotional, and mental stressors of daily life. I present, teach, and lead group workshops on holistic techniques such as Pranayama (yogic breathing), meditation, and laughter to help attain and maintain health." Members will participate in a short technique session.
The goal of these workshops/trainings is to help participants cultivate positive mental habits and develop their own internal strategies that combine techniques of progressive physical/mental awareness, Pranayama, guided visualization, and focused mindfulness to help achieve an active state of consciousness while reducing the constant inner chatter. These techniques are well documented, except that I use mental focus during and as we transition from one activity to another. This proactive mental training helps people develop peace of mind, a sense of well-being, and positive emotions with a clear understanding of how things are and how to deal with them.
